Astrology gives us the symbolism. My job is to take that symbolism and explore the many realistic ways it may manifest through experience, observation, research, humor, intuition, pattern recognition, and what I can only describe as my very active and highly attuned imagination.

Every year, I begin this process on January 1, after watching the first sunrise of the year with our Shotokan karate family. Then the real work starts. I ask how the same astrology might unfold for someone who is married, single, divorced, retired, studying, parenting, child-free, self-employed, working for someone else, caregiving, rebuilding after a difficult period, or beginning something completely new.

Then I turn those hours of voice recordings into a structured written forecast you can return to throughout 2027.

My writing is detailed, practical, emotionally honest, sometimes skeptical, and occasionally sarcastic because real life is occasionally ridiculous. I want you to understand the astrology, but I also want you to recognize your actual life inside it.

February 6: New Moon at 17°37′ Aquarius and Annular Solar Eclipse at 17°39′ Aquarius in your 8th house

This is one of February's defining events for Cancer Rising. The Aquarius Solar Eclipse falls in your 8th house of shared finances, taxes, debt, loans, mortgages, insurance, inheritance, partner income, business funding, joint assets, intimacy, trust, confidential information, and psychological entanglement. A major new chapter may begin around money involving other people. You could refinance, restructure debt, apply for funding, change insurance, begin estate planning, combine or separate accounts, handle an inheritance, deal with taxes, or negotiate a financial arrangement with a spouse or business partner. A partner's income may change, either because of a new job, retirement, business development, loss of income, bonus, investment, or some other financial shift that changes the balance between you. You may start thinking seriously about retirement, debt repayment, financial protection, emergency savings, beneficiaries, estate planning, or how much risk is shared inside a relationship. For some Cancer Rising people, this could be the moment when something that has been sitting in the background financially finally becomes impossible to ignore.

The 8th house is where money becomes complicated because it is no longer only yours. It is the mortgage with two names on it, the business loan someone else guaranteed, the credit card balance nobody wants to discuss, the inheritance divided among siblings, the insurance policy nobody has looked at in five years, or the retirement account whose beneficiary was never changed after a major life event. For others, the eclipse may reveal how vulnerable financial information has become. If several people have access to accounts, know exactly who can do what. If an ex-partner, former employee, accountant, relative, or business associate once had access, it may be worth checking whether that access still exists. Saturn traditionally rules Aquarius and, for Cancer Rising, Saturn rules both your 7th house of partnerships and 8th house of shared resources. That means this eclipse directly links money with other people. A marriage may enter a new financial phase. A couple may buy property, refinance, consolidate debt, combine accounts, separate accounts, begin retirement planning, or decide that one person's financial habits are affecting both people too much to remain unaddressed. A business partnership could require investment, restructuring, or a clearer agreement about ownership and responsibility. A client relationship might become financially important. Someone could take on a loan with a partner, bring an investor into a business, renegotiate profit sharing, or involve an adviser in restructuring debt or estate plans. Because the 7th and 8th houses are both under Saturn's rulership for Cancer Rising, agreements between people may carry long-term financial consequences, and the quality of the relationship may depend partly on whether those financial arrangements are fair and sustainable.

Trust also belongs to this house, but it is not sentimental trust or the kind people talk about when everything is comfortable. This is operational trust, the kind that matters when something goes wrong. Who knows the truth about the finances? Who sees the actual numbers? Who is responsible for paying what? Who has access to accounts? Who knows where the documents are? Who notices when something is wrong, and who tells you instead of hoping you never find out? This eclipse may show you that independence and isolation are not the same thing, just as sharing resources and surrendering control are not the same thing. Healthy interdependence requires both trust and boundaries.

The psychological side of this eclipse can be just as important. Aquarius is detached, while the 8th house is intimate, emotional, and sometimes uncomfortable. That combination may ask you to look at a difficult subject without drowning in it. Fear of dependence, fear of betrayal, financial control, inheriting family anxiety around money, being unable to accept support, or giving someone else too much power because questioning them feels disloyal can become more visible. Some Cancer Rising people may recognize that their relationship with money did not begin with them at all. The 8th house describes the places where we allow another person close enough to see what we normally protect, including money, fear, vulnerability, sexuality, secrets, trauma, and the parts of ourselves we do not casually hand over to other people. Aquarius can bring a slightly cooler perspective to these subjects, which may actually help. Instead of reacting entirely from fear, jealousy, suspicion, or emotional history, you may be able to step back and examine what is actually happening. You might recognize where trust is healthy and where it has become blind faith, where privacy is reasonable and where secrecy has become damaging, or where you are merging with someone because you genuinely want to rather than because you are afraid of losing them.

There may also be an important conversation about receiving help. Cancer Rising can sometimes feel safer being the person who takes care of everyone else, because receiving support means admitting that you cannot control everything alone. The 8th house challenges that. Loans, insurance, inheritance, partner income, investment, and shared resources all involve receiving something from somewhere outside yourself. March 26: Venus enters Pisces in your 7th house

Venus enters Pisces and your 7th house of marriage, committed partnerships, business partners, clients, advisers, contracts, negotiations, and one-to-one relationships. Venus has a traditionally strong expression in Pisces, so this can be one of March's more supportive relationship transits for Virgo Rising. Tenderness increases. People may become more willing to forgive, cooperate, reconcile, listen, help, and meet each other halfway. Love can feel more emotionally generous, and relationships that have been tense may soften enough for real conversation to become possible again.

Single people may meet someone artistic, compassionate, spiritual, intuitive, romantic, emotionally open, or simply more willing to express vulnerability than the people you have recently encountered. Existing relationships may become softer. Your 4th House of Home, Family, Property, Parents, and Emotional Foundations

On February 9, Mercury stations retrograde in Pisces in your 4th house, and now the home and family story becomes more complicated. Something discussed since February 1 may require review, revision, delay, or clarification. A moving plan could change. A repair may take longer than expected. A contractor might need to return. Property paperwork could require corrections. A family member may change their mind. A parent-related issue could resurface. A lease, mortgage, insurance document, household bill, property agreement, family schedule, or legal document may need another look.

If you are buying, selling, renting, renovating, relocating, refinancing, or dealing with family property, double-check details carefully. Confirm dates, names, addresses, payment terms, measurements, closing documents, insurance coverage, and anything involving responsibility for repairs or maintenance. Pisces can blur boundaries, and Mercury retrograde can create confusion around information, so this is not the moment to assume that everyone understands the agreement simply because nobody objected during the conversation. Mercury retrograde is not automatically a reason to cancel everything and hide under the sofa until March. One damp spot in the ceiling somehow becomes a three-hour investigation involving two ladders, one flashlight, and everybody in the house developing an opinion. The useful approach is patient troubleshooting rather than assuming the first explanation is automatically correct.

Moving and relocation plans can also require flexibility. Dates may shift, paperwork may be delayed, a property may come back onto the market, or something you rejected earlier may suddenly become interesting again.
